We’re looking for dads based in Derby who can spare a little time to become part of our DadSquad!
As a service, one of key aims for 2023 is to expand our support offer for specifically for Dads. We already host a daytime Dads space group and are due to launch an evening group in February 2023.
The Fathers Network explains ‘’The risk of mothers' experiencing poor mental health during the perinatal period is well understood and monitored by services. However poor mental health in dads is very often undetected and therefore unsupported. And yet we now know that at least one in eight new dads suffer from postnatal depression, with up to 45% of dads affected by postnatal stress and anxiety’’
What is a Dad Squad?
We are looking for a group of around 8-10 Dads who can meet with us once approx. every 3 months to have open and honest conversations about the unique challenges Dads face and how we can best shape our service to support these. We may also
contact you now and again for ad hoc feedback.
We are hosting an information session on January 23rd at our city centre offices from 5pm-9pm. We would love you to come along, it’s an informal drop in session – we can share more information and you can get to know a little more about the work we do and how you can help.
